Ideal Protein® combines nutrition and support for long-lasting results.

Keira Espada had been thin in high school, but when she stopped smoking, her weight began to climb.

“I put on a good thirty to forty pounds over time,” she recalls. It was the start of a yo-yo pattern, a familiar ordeal for millions of Americans who endure repetitive cycles of shedding weight through dieting only to regain every ounce and more.

Keira tried all sorts of diets to get rid of the extra pounds, including Weight Watchers®, Nutrisystem®, Shakeology® and restricting carbohydrates. Even when she managed to lose weight, it all came back eventually.

By her early 30s, Keira was feeling desperate. At just over 5-feet-5-inches, she was nearly 50 pounds overweight. The excess fat wasn’t enough to qualify her for weight loss surgery – which she looked into – but it made her feel miserable. And she worried about how being overweight could affect her future health.

“I was so depressed about my weight. I didn’t feel good about myself, or even feel like me. I was losing my confidence,” she laments. “It got to the point where I didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything. I had nothing to wear, and I wasn’t comfortable in any outfit.”

Keira, who is 33, works as an administrative assistant for an investment firm and is the mom of young children. She is active in the DeLand Rotary Club, where during a meeting she finally found the turning point in her weight loss struggle. Jeremy M. Gordon, DC, of DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression, made a presentation about the Ideal Protein plan for losing weight.

As she listened to Dr. Gordon, Keira realized the Ideal Protein plan was what she had been looking for: a healthy and simple-to-follow weight loss program that could give her long-lasting results. She wouldn’t have to attempt it on her own, either.

Dr. Gordon and his staff, including a dedicated diet coach, would provide the support she needed to ensure success.

Excited about finally resolving her dilemma with weight, Keira was eager to get started.

“The day Dr. Gordon made a presentation about Ideal Protein to the Rotary club, I called his office and got in to see him that same day,” she notes.

Lose Fat, Not Muscle

Unlike many weight loss systems, Ideal Protein is part of a comprehensive, personalized plan. It is based on more than 25 years of experience helping more than five million people lose weight in Europe and Canada, and now a large group of people in the United States.

“Ideal Protein is incorporated into a customized program for patients. On average, our patients lose twelve to fifteen pounds a month,” says Dr. Gordon, a chiropractic physician and clinic director at DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression.

Dr. Gordon and his staff have helped hundreds of people achieve healthy weights and lifestyles through Ideal Protein. Like Keira, most had already tried other weight loss programs without long-term success.

Ideal Protein helps limit the amount of sugars and dietary fats while providing high-quality protein that is easily absorbed. A key to its success is how it helps burn fat while preserving muscle mass, an advantage for maintaining a healthy metabolism.

“Ideal Protein helps limit the amount of sugars and dietary fats coming in while providing a high-quality form of protein that is easily absorbed,” notes Dr. Gordon. “Some plans merely restrict caloric intake so the body will burn fat. That will also burn some muscle, so people lose muscle mass while they’re on a lot of these diets. On the other hand, the Ideal Protein program focuses on helping people lose weight by burning stored fat while preserving lean muscle.”

There are four supplements that go along with actual food: a multivitamin, potassium supplement, fish oil supplement and calcium supplement.

“We have to supplement because we’re removing most of the dairy, grains and fruits from people’s regular diets while they’re on the program,” explains Dr. Gordon. “Those food groups have a lot of mineral content, so we need to make sure patients still get an adequate, balanced amount of minerals. Consequently, muscle cramps or spasms or things of that nature are avoided.

“None of the supplements are what you see with the different fad diets. There are no diet pills or stimulants in Ideal Protein,” he adds. “The Ideal Protein plan is focused on the body’s biochemistry and burning stored fat through eating properly and through proper nutrition. Ideal Protein teaches people to eat healthy.”

Moreover, another aspect that sets Ideal Protein apart from other programs is its one-on-one coaching and support. At DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression, the clinic’s Ideal Protein Coach, Tracee Gmitro, meets individually with Ideal Protein clients to guide them on their journey to better health and wellness.

“The meetings with Tracee are weekly, and they help to hold people accountable and monitor their weight loss as they go through the program,” assures Dr. Gordon. “If there is an issue that needs to be addressed, either myself or my associate, Dr. Munson, can come in and speak to them as well. We can also monitor things like blood work as far as cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar, blood pressure and common issues that people may be dealing with as well as being overweight.”

Renewed Confidence

The first week Keira started the Ideal Protein plan, she loved the way she felt. With other diets she tried, she had been bogged down by their complexity or stopped because they featured packaged food full of sodium that made her bloated.

The Ideal Protein plan was easy for her to follow. And it made her feel great – right away.

“I like Ideal Protein because everything is all-natural,” she describes. “Starting in the first week, I felt good. I felt energetic. And when I did my first weigh-in after a week, I’d lost six pounds.”

Keira took advantage of all the support the program had to offer. She met with Tracee and attended the clinic’s cooking classes, where she learned how to create healthy meals and snacks.

“Having their support is very helpful because there are times when you’re stuck, such as not knowing whether you should eat a certain food,” says Keira. “I could shoot a text message to Tracee, and she’d get back to me right away. Dr. Gordon is also available by text, if I need help, and he reached out to me, too.

“They also have a Facebook page that offers all the support from other people using Ideal Protein, where you can get good ideas about recipes and what to do in certain situations,” she adds. “The cooking classes were very helpful, along with meetings where you can learn things like how to prepare yourself for the holidays.”

Keira was delighted at her weekly weigh-ins as she consistently logged weight loss. Over a period of about seven months, she lost 47 pounds. At the start of her journey, she was about to “graduate” to a larger size 12 in clothing. After successfully losing weight, she now wears a size four.

Besides being happy about the cosmetic appeal of her slimmer physique, Keira is also excited about improving her health. She likes that she has much better odds for avoiding health conditions like diabetes because she is no longer overweight.

“Keira went from originally having a body fat percentage of forty-five point five percent to thirty-one point one percent at her last weigh-in. That’s a significant body fat percentage loss and what we’re really trying to focus on,” observes Dr. Gordon. “On the body-mass-index chart, which gauges health risk according to height and weight, she is now in a healthy range. That’s what we like to see for our patients.”

After reaching her goal weight, Keira is now in Phase 4 of the Ideal Protein plan, its maintenance phase. It’s the phase that will help her lock in results and successfully avoid re-entering any yo-yo dieting cycle.

For a year, she will be able to check in for regular weigh-ins, attend classes and meet monthly with Tracee.

“During the last phase, a lot of it is accountability, when people are following a healthy eating lifestyle. They’re still following up with Tracee and checking in, which means we can address any issues that may arise and keep those issues from turning into problems or regained weight,” emphasizes Dr. Gordon.

Meanwhile, Keira can’t get over her good fortune from following the Ideal Protein plan.

“I’m a walking advertisement because everybody who sees me is like, Oh, my gosh! What did you do? How did you do it?” she comments. “I tell everybody about the program because it really works. It gave me energy, and I’m not sluggish anymore. I have so much energy now to run around with my kids.

“And then there’s the self-esteem and confidence it has given me. That’s a big one and important to me. I’ve got my social life back, and I feel good just being healthy.”

Rose Pendleton’s weight problem wasn’t only about the way she looked; it was also about how she felt. “I had been heavy for quite a while,” she confides. “My knees were giving me real problems, and I found that I was getting tired more easily.”

Like millions of adult Americans, Rose knew she was overweight but felt unable to do anything to get her weight under control. She tested multiple options, but without success.

“I tried Weight Watchers® and Nutrisystem®,” she recalls. “I lost a few pounds, but I never seemed to be able to keep them off. With Weight Watchers, there was too much flexibility and counting of ‘points.’ Keeping that kind of close track of points was a little tedious, and it was up to me to decide what to eat. I found it hard to plan meals.”

Eventually, Rose got a wakeup call: her weight was having a measurable effect on her health.

“Besides just being uncomfortable, I was starting to have medical issues,” she acknowledges. “I was pre-diabetic, so they were looking at that. My blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol were all elevated. My doctor was talking about starting me on some medication, so that was my incentive to really get serious about losing the weight.”

In the summer of 2014, Rose read an article in Volusia Health Care News about Dr. Jeremy Gordon, a chiropractic physician and clinic director at DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression. Dr. Gordon offers comprehensive chiropractic care as well as weight loss with the Ideal Protein plan.

“I got some more information about the weight loss program and finally decided that I needed to do something,” Rose remembers. “I started with the Ideal Protein last summer.”

Personalized Program

Unlike many weight loss systems, Ideal Protein is part of a comprehensive, personalized plan.

“Ideal Protein is incorporated into a customized program for patients,” Dr. Gordon says. “On average, most of our patients lose approximately twelve to fifteen pounds per month.”

Based on more than 25 years of experience and more than five million people in Europe and Canada – and now a large group of people in the United States – the Ideal Protein plan enables patients to achieve weight loss quickly without sacrificing muscle mass. The result: improved energy and appetite control, improved blood sugar and cholesterol levels and reduced blood pressure.

“Ideal Protein helps limit the amount of sugars and dietary fats coming in while providing a high-quality form of protein that is easily absorbed,” notes the doctor. “Whereas some plans merely restrict caloric intake so the body will burn fat, that will also burn some muscle. So people lose muscle mass while they’re on a lot of these diets. On the other hand, the Ideal Protein program focuses on helping people lose weight by burning stored fat while preserving lean muscle.”

Even better, the plan is not simply a substitute for normal food; it also transitions patients to overall healthier eating. They learn healthy eating habits and proper food combinations to allow them to maintain a healthy weight long term.

“There are four supplements that go along with the actual foods that they’re eating: a multivitamin, a potassium supplement, a fish oil and a calcium formula,” continues Dr. Gordon.

“We have to supplement because we’re removing most of the dairy, grains and fruits from their regular diet while they’re on the program,” he clarifies. “Those three food groups have a lot of mineral content, so we need to make sure patients still get an adequate, balanced amount of minerals. Consequently, we avoid muscle cramps or spasms and things of that nature.

“None of the supplements are like what you see with the different fad diets,” continues Dr. Gordon. “There are no diet pills or stimulants in Ideal Protein. The Ideal Protein plan is focused on the body’s biochemistry and burning stored fat through eating properly and through proper nutrition. Ideal Protein teaches patients to eat healthy.

“What really sets Ideal Protein apart from most diets is the one-on-one coaching and support provided by our Ideal Protein Coach, Tracee Gmitro,” he adds. “She has been an outstanding addition to our Ideal Protein program. Tracee meets one-on-one with our Ideal Protein patients each week to help guide them on their journey to better health and wellness.”

Additionally, Dr. Gordon reports that he has installed a private workout and muscle toning facility for his Ideal Protein patients. “Patients can reserve the workout room for thirty minutes for their own private use, and this eliminates the fear and discomfort that many weight loss patients have about going to a gym. They’ll be able to do some cardio and muscle toning up to five days per week in their own private room, all at no extra charge.”

Goal met…then exceeded

Rose is eating healthier now than she has in years, and the results speak for themselves. After completing the weight loss program, she lost 79.2 pounds overall and more than 13 percent body fat.

“I’ve learned through the process to eat more vegetables,” she reflects. “In fact, I’ve even discovered new vegetables I hadn’t tried before that I like. I have learned how to eat a little bit differently, and that’s going to stay with me the rest of my life.”

Of course, moderate exercise helps, adds Rose, who has since done things she hadn’t done in years: “I’m able to actually go running on the treadmill,” she says. “I hadn’t run in I don’t know how long. It was something I really wanted to do, and now I can do it.”

Thanks to the personalized combination of the Ideal Protein plan and her newfound energy, Rose reports impressive numbers with her blood sugar and cholesterol, as well – her sugar dropped from 99 down into the 70s, and her cholesterol is down from 222 to the 170s. “My blood pressure is stable, too,” she adds. “It was borderline before, but now it’s normal.”
Rose says she is absolutely satisfied with the Ideal Protein program.

“The plan was easy for me, and I think that’s because it’s more structured,” she explains. “First, I met my weight goal, then I exceeded it. I’m very happy with that.”
She thanks Dr. Gordon and the entire staff for all their help throughout the process.

“They were very supportive and encouraging, and they had a lot of information to give me,” Rose assures. “You can tell they truly care about you as an individual and about your success. They’re excellent people – I couldn’t ask for better.”

Lose Pounds Easily with the Ideal Protein® Plan

Dona and Dennis Wright love to do everything together. Married 11 years, they met at work where they were both controllers in accounting. Now that they are retired, their days are filled with concerts, trips and motorcycle rides with the local Harley Owners Group.

In the spirit of togetherness, the couple took on another project last summer to complete as a pair: They lost weight through the Ideal Protein plan offered by Jeremy M. Gordon, DC.

Dr. Gordon is a chiropractic physician and clinic director at DeLand Chiropractic & Spinal Decompression. He offers comprehensive chiropractic care as well as weight loss with the Ideal Protein plan.

Dona was introduced to the Ideal Protein plan when she read an article about Dr. Gordon and Ideal Protein in Volusia Health Care News.

“My sister-in-law actually was on Ideal Protein and she lost forty-eight pounds,” continues Dona. “So when we saw the article in the paper, we said that’s got to be the same thing and made an appointment to talk to Dr. Gordon.”

Their decision was prompted because they were continually putting on weight. “I don’t know if that was because we were retired … we’ve been retired for only a few years,” says Dona.  “I think it’s just that through the years you put on a few pounds each year.

“We got to the point where enough was enough. We tried Nutrisystem®, but that didn’t work. We lost ten pounds but then put it back on,” she confides.

Being on the Ideal Protein plan would prove to be much more successful.

After their annual pilgrimage to Key West in early summer, they started following the plan and found that it was easy to follow.

“We went to our first meeting and weigh-in and coincidentally had tickets for the Rolling Stones concert at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando two days later,” notes Dennis. “We’re at the concert and everybody is tailgating and eating burgers and hot dogs and drinking beer and wine. We’re eating salads with chicken. We passed our first challenge right there.”

They were both pleased by the rate their extra pounds were disappearing. “As long as you follow the guidelines on what to eat and drink, the pounds come off quickly,” says Dona.

“None of the supplements is like what you see with the different fad diets. There are no diet pills or stimulants in Ideal Protein. The Ideal Protein plan is focused on the body’s biochemistry and burning stored fat through eating properly and through proper nutrition. Ideal Protein teaches patients to eat healthy.

“What really sets Ideal Protein apart from most diets,” Dr. Gordon continues, “is the one-on-one coaching and support provided by our Ideal Protein Coach, Tracee Gmitro. She has been an outstanding addition to our Ideal Protein program. Tracee meets one-on-one with our Ideal Protein patients each week to help guide them on their journey to better health and wellness.”

Additionally, Dr. Gordon reports that he has installed a private workout and muscle toning facility for his Ideal Protein patients. “This enables patients to reserve the workout room for thirty minutes for their own private use, and eliminates the fear and discomfort that many weight loss patients have about going to a gym. They’ll be able to do some cardio and muscle toning up to five days per week in their own private room, all at no extra charge.”

Helpful Support

“The nice thing about this whole process is the support that you get,” assures Dona. “Tracee has [a class] she calls Ideal Living every week. She talks about different subjects, like how do you get through the holidays and what happens when you go to a party. You also get an email about various topics every day from Ideal Protein.

“You have a huge support group between Dr. Gordon, Tracee, Dr. Munson and the other people who are going through the program like you are,” she says.

Dona and Dennis also attended cooking classes offered at the clinic and learned more about nutrition through talks by Dr. Gordon.

“Both of us cook,” informs Dennis. “I probably cook more because we cook a lot of vegetables and lean meats on the grill almost every night.”

“I think that’s one of the things that was very helpful to us,” agrees Dona. “We were going through this together. We would both shop and then cook together with me making the salad and Dennis grilling.”

Both Dennis and Dona achieved impressive results in just a few months. Dona started at 157 pounds and reached 121 pounds. Her dress size fell from a size 14 to size 6.

“What’s interesting is you keep on looking in the mirror and saying, Oh my goodness, look how I’ve changed!” exclaims Dona. “It’s a great feeling to go out and buy new clothes. I’m purchasing clothes that make me look younger.”

Dennis’ weight loss totaled 68 pounds, bringing him down to 171 pounds. “The last time I weighed that much was probably forty-five years ago when I joined the Marines,” he chuckles.

“I had my fiftieth high school reunion in September and I had to buy all new clothes to go because nothing else fit. They were all too big,” he says. “I hadn’t seen most of the people in my class for many years. They thought I looked the same as when I was in school, except I now have grayer hair.

Dennis also has noticed the difference in the way he feels. “I didn’t think I felt bad before I lost the weight but I feel better now. I’m off my blood pressure medicine and my cholesterol medicine,” he reports. “I’ve noticed it’s much easier to do things like putting away Christmas decorations … climbing up and down ladders is much easier when you’re not carrying sixty-eight extra pounds.”

Both Dona and Dennis are appreciative of what they learned from Dr. Gordon and the Ideal Protein plan. They are enjoying life at a healthier weight.

“I would recommend Ideal Protein to everyone,” says Dona. “It’s so encouraging because you do lose the weight quickly.”
